The search for quality family time led this young couple to change their career paths and way of life.
New owners Nic and Jaime Cail have bought an established small business, Ad Mat Distribution which has been in operation for the past 16 years. They say they looked at a business to run where they could spend more time with their young family.
While Jaime has experience in sales and the travel industry, she is looking forward to being able to use her business marketing degree and working full time in their own business.
Nic comes from a farming background and has extensive work in the wine industry, travelling with a mobile wine bottling business and putting in long hours.
“I was away too much. We decided to use the flexibility of the hours of operation of the distribution company to arrange our working hours to suit our family better,” Nic says.
The first step was to change the address of the business to a more central spot, with premises now at 60 Garsed Street, Bendigo.
Employing around 80 local walkers, Ad Mat Distribution delivers the Bendigo Miner and local business’s advertising material, even lots as small as 1,000.
“We are the only company in Bendigo who will deliver small amounts of flyers, so small businesses like hairdressers and tradesmen now have a viable option to get their services in front of the 30,000 households we deliver to each week.”
And managing a workforce of 80 is the challenge ahead.
“We know how important it is for our valued walkers to deliver our clients advertising material with care and attention. This is the secret to success and gives the best results for the client and householders,” Nic adds.
